<p>There are many types of anxiety disorders, and they present themselves via a variety of signs and symptoms such as the ones listed below.</p>
<p>It should be noted that these signs are not anxiety-specific, though if you tend to exhibit two or more of them over a period of time, then chances are; you might be experiencing an anxiety disorder.</p>

<p>Some so-called experts claim that where acute panic attack sufferers are concerned, battling toe-to-toe against this anxiety disorder will only serve to exacerbate it.</p>
<p>Still, if the attack comes swinging, you can’t just let it smash you in the chin.</p>
<p>There are a number of effective ways to set up your defense and prevent a panic attack from getting on top of you.</p>
<p>Here are some of those ways:</p>
<h1>#1. Focus on a specific object</h1>

<p>Panic attack can creep up unexpectedly irrespective of your location and when it comes around, what you’ll want to do is zero in your focus on a specific object that’s within your sight at the time.</p>

<p>For example, you might get a panic attack while waiting in the lobby of a building, and there happens to be a potted plant by the entrance—place all your focus on it!</p>
<p>Describe to yourself what type of plant it is, how it looks, whether it fits the surrounding, the color of the pot, the pattern on it, its size, whether you should grab the whole thing and take it home with you, whatever.</p>
<p>The point of doing this is to thwart the feeling of panic attack from building up and then softening it, so that you will be able to gain control of your anxiety.</p>
<h1>#2. Pick a mantra and recite it repeatedly</h1>

<p>One of the main symptoms of a panic attack is hyperventilation, which is a condition that makes you breathe so rapidly, that you wind up exhaling a lot more carbon dioxide than you inhale oxygen.</p>
<p>Normal, healthy breathing should hit the sweet spot between inhaling and exhaling.</p>
<p>Now, everyone and their mother are familiar with the notion of count to ten when temper arises.</p>
<p>This works with a panic attack too.</p>
<p>Keeping your breathing in check can significantly decrease your chances of experiencing hyperventilation, which effectively lessens the impact of a panic attack.</p>
<p>So, whenever you feel that a panic attack is about to pounce on you, promptly take ten deep breaths—more if need be.</p>
<p>Let your lungs be filled up with oxygen.</p>
<p>Take a moment to note the sensation, and allow each deep breath to bring you back to the present moment.</p>
<p>This approach may seem simple, but rest assured it’s a very powerful way of alleviating one of the critical symptoms of a panic attack.</p>
<h1>#4. Take advantage of the soothing power of essential oils</h1>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Lately, I’ve been hearing quite a number of criticisms regarding ketogenic diet, so I thought I should write this up and let folks out there know my positive experiences with this diet.</p>
<p>Here’s a little backstory (kindly bear with me please):</p>
<p>I’ve spent nearly half of my lifetime trying to lose weight and my attempts were always futile.</p>
<p>But back in early 2015, my dear friend Danny recommended me a book called “Keto Clarity.”</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>I loved it!</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>The book covers a ton of interesting details concerning the ketogenic or keto diet.</p>
<p>I was extremely fascinated by the concept of eating protein moderately, super low to no carb, and a tremendous amount of fat (yum, yum!).</p>
<p>So, I decided to jump on the bandwagon and 3 years later, not only did I manage to get rid of close to 65 pounds of excess weight, the diet also changed my life in several positive ways.</p>
<p>Now please read on to find out how my life has changed for the better thanks to the keto diet.</p>
<h1><strong>1) At long last, I discovered a diet that I could follow until I’m old and grey</strong></h1>

<p>Like I said earlier, my previous attempts at dieting always ended in futility. My longest dieting streak prior to discovering keto was about 27 days, I think…</p>
<p>Yeap, pathetic, I know!</p>
<p>With the keto diet, I’ve been at it strictly and consistently for almost 3 full years and a boatload of pounds have been stripped away.</p>
<p>No doubt, this diet may not be for everyone, but I’m NUTS about it and I’m confident I could stick with it until I grow old—fingers crossed!</p>
<h1><strong>2) Turned me into a keen student of nutrition</strong></h1>

<p>I’ve never been that interested in the subject of nutrition.</p>
<p>Typically, I would read a little bit about this and a little bit of that, without really giving a crap about the scientific explanations.</p>
<p>But when I first read about the keto diet, it just grabbed me right off the bat and I wanted to learn as much as I could about it.</p>
<p>I actually gave a damn about the scientific reasoning behind this diet!</p>
<p>Since then, I’ve developed a strong interest in not just keto, but a wide range of matters related to general health and nutrition.</p>
<h1><strong>3) I’m no longer a sugar junkie</strong></h1>

<p>I was a bonafide sugar junkie back before keto came into my life.</p>
<p>Once a week, I would head over to the supermarket and raid the junk food aisles to cover my entire weekly fix.</p>
<p>Oreos and Mars Chocolate Minis were my favorite sugary drugs of choice.</p>
<p>Well, no wonder I failed at dieting a shedload of times, huh?</p>
<p>Anyway, to be a legit keto dieter, sugary stuff must go.</p>
<p>And go it did.</p>
<p>I won’t lie, it was excruciatingly difficult initially.</p>
<p>But I so badly wanted this diet to work and booyah—I’m no longer addicted to sugar.</p>
<p>However, I do eat the sweet stuff from time to time—like that one slice of my friend’s birthday cake I ate just yesterday.</p>
<p>But no more addiction, I swear!</p>
<h1><strong>4) Significantly decreased my blood sugar and blood pressure levels</strong></h1>

<p>Prior to diving into the keto diet, I actually found out that my blood sugar and blood pressure levels were on the high side.</p>
<p>Since keto made me dump sugar from my everyday diet, those levels decreased rather substantially about close to a year later.</p>
<p>Of course, I also consumed plenty of nourishing foods that contain no starch and workout regularly as well.</p>

<p>This is undoubtedly the key factor behind my longevity with this diet.</p>
<p>I genuinely believe that loads of folks out there prematurely give up on the ketogenic diet because they have no idea how fix a variety of keto-approved dishes that are delicious.</p>

<p>According to Gordon, a ketogenic diet that necessitates restricted intake of calories or moderate consumption of them can contribute considerably to losing unwanted bodyweight.</p>

<p>Gordon also said that unable to cope with hunger and cravings as well as unwillingness to decrease food intake, as the primary reasons behind the failures of many who attempted to lose weight via conventional diets.</p>

<p>Such advantageous trait is one of the chief reasons that keto is fast becoming the diet of choice by those looking to burn off fat, without getting hit by hunger pangs due to calories cutback.</p>
<p>Gordon claims that in order to properly follow the keto diet, you should consume no more than 5% of your daily calories from carbs, another 10 to 15% from protein, and finally, 75 to 80% from quality fat sources.</p>
<p>This is the caloric ratio that will allow your body to cross into ketosis, thereby promoting a healthy production of ketones in your liver.</p>

<p>Gordon mentioned that in the first couple of weeks, the majority of dieters will shed off water weight. Such occurrence is perfectly normal due to the lack of starchy carbohydrates in the body.</p>
<p>The avoidance of sugar in keto can lead to a substantial loss of water weight—as much as 15 pounds. Of course, the amount one stands to lose is different from person to person.</p>
<p>But in order to burn fat, you must give your body time to wholly adapt to using dietary fat as fuel for energy.</p>

<p>Gordon shared that the surplus of calories from protein will cause your body to convert them into glucose, therefore spiking up your insulin and obstructing ketosis.</p>
<p>Gordon was also kind enough to share her favorite keto diet cookbook.</p>
<p>Gordon maintains that the book taught her how to cook a multitude of flavorful keto-friendly meals including bacon-wrapped mozzarella sticks, cauliflower pizza, coconut shrimp, and her personal favorites— lemon cheesecake bars and coconut lemon fat bombs.</p>
